Today's Lesson From The Craft Room: Do your little bit of good where you are. It's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world. -Desmond Tutu
I don't know about you, but when I look around at the world and see all the work that needs to be done, I can feel overwhelmed. It makes me wonder what I am supposed to be doing to make the world a better place. I wonder if I'm doing enough - if there is more I need to be doing. And then, sometimes, I feel like I should be doing so much more and it paralyzes me because the task can seem so great. And then I read a quote like this one (from the Pursuit of Happiness stamp set) from Desmond Tutu and I can breathe again - remembering to do my little bit of good where I am and that those little bits will add up. Yes, I can breathe again.
Today's card combines the quote with a stamped and painted transparency. I stamped the bird from Young Vermillion (retired) with Staz-On - you can do this just as easily with the bird from Nature Walk - and then painted the back of the transparency with different acrylic paints. I adhered the painted transparency on top of a punched Basic Black circle. I hope you like it!

I agree, we should be concerned with what more we can do, but we also have to be proud of what we are doing. My cousin won't recycle because she didn't get a free recycling container when everyone else did. Me, I think I try to save too much from the landfill (as evidenced by the stacks and bags of stuff I think I can repurpose). We give when we can and we do what we can.
May try that technique today - hunkering down for "Sandy" to arrive. Have already lost power once. As long as I have daylight I can stamp! No power tools involved.
