Die Cut Acetate Stencil Background & Video!!!

Today's Lesson From The Craft Room:  What does it mean to be "epic?"
I really should stop watching tv altogether!  There are times when I take television "vacations," and turn instead to books.  Now may be one of those times.  I am just frustrated by what I've been hearing lately on commercials!  Ugh!  The other night there was a Visa ad and do you know what it said?  "The Superbowl.  The most epic day in America."  REALLY???????  Are you kidding me??????  So I looked up the word "epic" - wondering if somehow I had never understood the word in the first place and here is what I found for the definition of "epic" as an adjective:  "of, relating to, or characteristic of an epic or epics."  Okay, that's not really helpful since the word is used to describe the word....so then I looked at "epic" as a noun and came up with this, "a long poem, typically one derived from ancient oral tradition, narrating the deeds and adventures of heroic or legendary figures or the history of a nation."  So how is the Superbowl the most epic day in America??????  These are the most heroic and legendary figures we have???????  I can't even continue with this!  How ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!  Yes, I need a television holiday!
For today's card I created die cut acetate stencils to make the background.  Here is a video to show you how....it's epic! :)

As a lover of words, I totally understand your outrage. My pet peeve is the phrase "instant classic". Arghhh!

I love how you used the die cut acetate. What a gorgeous background! Must try that, soon! Doris

What a beautiful card and another wonderful technique to try.

What's been driving me crazy is the JCP commercial - the screaming is just obnoxious but I'm loving their new updated catalog. It's very colorful and artistic. They must have used up all their budget on the catty.

Epic day - I think not. How many people will even remember who played a year from now (well, I know we will but only because we're Giants fans)? I know I don't remember last year's winner.

Enjoy your tv vacation.
