Baby's First Year Mini Scrapbook & Card – December Bonus Project by Christy Fulk

If you've got a new baby in the family, or a friend has had a baby, then you really should make this mini scrapbook for them. This mini scrapbook is a great little keepsake for the baby's first year. There is room for a picture of the baby for each of its first twelve months, along with two pockets to put little keepsakes in. This scrapbook shows a new way to use the Project Life Baby Girl Card Collection and Hello Baby Accessory Pack. It also features the Hello Baby Stamp Set. It can be customized for a baby boy by using the Project Life Baby Boy Card Collection instead. This would also make a great Project Life Class.

Bonus projects can be obtained by subscribing to two or more months in a row at Craft Project Central, putting the Craft Project Central badge on your blog, or by referring a friend and when they subscribe, letting Craft Project Central know.  Head to Craft Project Central to learn more!

Snow Day Fun by Buffy Cooper

Snow Day Fun! – Buffy Cooper

It’s 10 a.m. on a snow day. The snow is piling up outside and doesn’t look like it’s going to stop, and then you hear those three dreaded words – “Mom, I’m bored.” Keep your children entertained with this Snow Day Fun set. Use the Stampin’ Up! Snow Place bundle to create mix and match elements that will cling to the scenic background board. It’s simple enough for older children to create for younger siblings or neighbors, and smaller children will enjoy mixing the pieces to create cute snow scenes. Best of all, it’s durable enough to stand up to hours of use by tiny fingers. If you don’t have children, you can create this project for a friend who does and make a young child’s day. Instructions for a storage/gift box and a coordinating card are included. This would make a fun class for moms so they’ll be ready for that first snow day!  Head to Craft Project Central and subscribe to the month of December for full step-by-step instructions!

Sleigh Ride Edgelits Christmas Pocket Card

Intricate die cuts can add a very special level of detail to your cards.  Here, the Sleigh Ride Edgelit is highlighted by creating a pocket card with the die cut insert.  I used the ribbon to hold the pocket together so that the card is easy to put in and pull out.  The sentiment is from the Antique Tags stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Christmas Tags With A Vintage Feel

I'm drawn to things that have an aged or vintage feel and that is true with paper tags too!  These two tag designs were created with that vintage feel in mind.  For the top tag I used the Antique Tags stamp set by Stampin' Up!  The second tag was made with the Six Sayings stamp set and whole lot of sponging of the edges :)  The second tag makes me think of warm wooly sweaters and drinking a cup of hot cocoa by a warm fire...and we can't forget some snowflakes falling outside the window :)

Thankfully Embrace Art Journal Page

My art journal is a wonderful place to explore, experiment and play!  Over the weekend I decided to try doing a matte medium transfer with a sentiment I printed out on my laser printer.  I also played with molding paste, stamping, stenciling, tissue paper...you get the point...I played A LOT!  This "everything but the kitchen sink" page was the result! :)  Not only did I have fun (in addition to a bit of struggle), I also learned a lot.  Open up your art journal and play!  You may or may not like what you end up creating, but you will definitely learn and have fun....and you may even surprise yourself with what you create!!!! :)

Thankful Forest Friends Thank You Card

Every single day provides an opportunity to reflect on what you are thankful for.  Today I am thankful for getting up early and going for an outdoor swim in a heated pool even though it was below freezing when I first got to the pool.  I am also thankful for the dry sauna I was able to warm up in after my swim :)  I am thankful for the ability to swim - a body that supports me and carries me through the water.  I am thankful for the peace that the water brings me - a place to find some solace - the sounds, the ripples, the designs the sun casts on the bottom of the pool.  I know that today will bring more to be grateful for.  I wait to receive what the day has to bring with gratitude.

Patchwork Pumpkin

Today I wanted to share a fun craft for the Halloween/Thanksgiving season!  This is an idea that I got from Alisa Burke.  She decorates real pumpkins in different ways every year and I fell in love with this patchwork pumpkin!  I began with a plastic pumpkin that I purchased at the craft store.  I wanted to have a pumpkin that I could use every year.  Then I cut small rectangles of different cotton fabrics.  Next I mixed Matte Mod Podge with some water and applied the fabrics to the pumpkin with a foam brush and the Mod Podge mixture.  I found it helpful to work on a piece of freezer paper.  I covered the entire pumpkin and let it dry and then I used a Sharpie White Paint Pen to add the stitch marks.  I love how it turned out!  Thanks for the inspiration Alisa!!!
